Liz Blackwood MP for Erewash visited welfare to work organisation
Working Links recently to find out how they will be helping over
2500 unemployed people across the county into work over the next
two years.
Working Links has been helping people from
various backgrounds into work through the return to work programmes
they are running. Whilst there Ms Blackman met with Manager Lesley
Haddon and a group of jobseekers attending a retail training
session being run to fill a employers vacancies. Similar employer
led training programmes have been run in the city to plug the gap
between a jobseekers skills and those required for a job.
Emma Parker, Manager at Working Links
comments; “We invited Ms Blackman along to Working Links to meet
jobseekers first hand and determine the sorts of barriers they face
into work. We have successfully helped hundreds into jobs by
working with employers to fill their vacancies.”
“Our skills support matches those required by
the employer and often includes screening jobseekers for interview
and even providing meeting space for interviews. It has helped
employers save a time and money on recruitment during these
challenging times”.
