Position: Director of People and Development

 

Clare Davey joined Working Links in August 2007 as our Director of Human Resources. And by January 2008, our Learning and Development agenda also came under Clare’s remit. Responsible for a team of over 30 people, Clare now leads the way as Director for People and Development. Since joining, Clare has overseen the smooth transition of a massive increase in Working Links’ workforce - from 500 to over 2,000.

 

Based in Covent Garden, Clare and her team have had a significant impact, introducing an innovative individual review system which not only acknowledges and rewards those who achieve objectives, but acknowledges the skills of how we behave, through the success drivers. Through this success, Clare has received external praise through the awarding body for quality, Ofsted. With the need to build capacity and capability, Clare and her team have developed a successful talent management processes to identify, develop, engage, retain and position people to meet the demands of our ever-changing industry.

 

Clare came to Working Links from the hospitality and retail sector, she was Southern HR Director for the Hilton Hotel Group and through this challenging role was responsible for over 5,000 people in hotels throughout the UK.

 

At the age of 30, Clare took a career break and embarked on a life time ambition to tour the world visiting countries of South East Asia and Australasia. Now married and living in Kent, Clare and her husband Tom enjoy a jam-packed lifestyle, and often take part in adrenalin fueled activities. Clare has undertaken both a night dive with hammer head sharks, bungee jumping, sky diving, and a level six white water rafting experience. Clare’s ambition is to visit as many countries in the world and grow knowing she has experienced as many cultures as possible.

 

Clare is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD).
