Since early 2009 Working Links has supported
offenders in prisons by providing vocational
training to help offenders break the offending cycle and
reintegrate successfully into the community on their release.
We work in over 30 prisons across the country
where we encourage offenders to
access training programmes while they are in
custody. We also offer offenders advice and guidance on available
support and rehabilitation programmes which prepare them for
returning to society such as anger management and help overcoming
substance abuse.
When offenders have completed their sentence
we are on hand to ensure they have a smooth transition from custody
into the community by highlighting available support and
employment opportunities for ex-offenders.
Building on the skills they have developed in prison, we continue
to offer training for ex-offenders and provide them with the
support they need to enable them to find employment. We also
provide ex-offenders with help and advice on practical aspects such
as accommodation and setting up bank accounts.
