Responsible and accountable for the strategic development and successful implementation of the companies apprenticeship business. The role holder will lead on all elements of developing an apprenticeship solution, securing new business and working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to meet the needs of employers, apprentices as well as maximising the opportunities from the Apprenticeship Reforms; including the Apprenticeship Levy and Apprentice Standards.
Lead on the company apprenticeship business, developing strategy and building strategic partners to secure new business to an agreed target, also working with your team to account manage and implement our offer to employers.
Lead on building a commercial apprenticeship offer which is beneficial to our employers and is sufficiently flexible to build long-term success in the apprenticeship marketplace.
To maintain sound knowledge of the training and education landscape and lead on the development of new ways of meeting employers’ needs which add to the Company’s portfolio, strengthens its links with employers and produces income streams that enable the Company to grow and thrive.
Ensuring apprenticeship, ESFA and levy contractual requirements and allocated financial budgets are optimised by formulating, influencing, gaining approval and delivering an apprenticeship strategy and deliver a high quality, flexible and fit for purpose service to employers and apprentices.
To develop and work with the Business Development Team to secure relationships with new employers developing our sectoral and geographical footprint and securing the long-term success and sustainability of the business.
Lead on the recruitment of an apprenticeship team and associated delivery partners to meet the needs of employers and agreed company targets.
Work with internal stakeholders to develop a curriculum for the chosen apprenticeship standards and drive excellence through maximising the use of learning technology.
Lead on self-assessment and quality improvement planning to implement, evaluate and improve new and existing programmes.
Ensure delivery meets all quality requirements E.G. Ofsted, and takes accountability for all Ofsted inspection visits.
Lead on all strategic partnerships with end-point assessment organisations (EPAO’s) and awarding organisations (AO) and ensures robust internal processes are in place
Provide strategic direction that focuses on improving outcomes for apprentices including in English and Mathamatics
Create a culture that enables apprentices and employees to excel. Co-ordinate duties, provide leadership and designate responsibilities for all members of the apprenticeship team including setting KPIs which stretch and challenge performance.
Undertake performance management and appraisal activity that leads to professional development, and encourages employees to improve.
A sound understanding of the Apprenticeship Reforms and apprenticeship funding mechanisms
An established consistent track record of growing apprenticeship provision and meeting contractual and company performance targets with experience of meeting significant budgets involving ESFA.
Experience of Ofsted HMI inspection
Demonstrates a high level of problem solving, working independently and co-odinate activity across multiple teams.
Strong record of building and maintaining employer relationships to progress the business objectives and managing, apprenticeships standards/frameworks, related qualifications and to meet quality standards.
Strong record in working within a constantly changing environment.
A strong leader with the ability to listen, question intelligently, articulate views, debate constructively and make decisions dispassionately.

The successful candidate can base themselves in any Working links office but must be prepared to travel nationally
