Homeless jobseeker secures a brighter future.
Homeless and living in a Nottingham hostel, David Wynn
was desperate to find a job so that he could turn his life
around.
But having been jobless for 18 months and without up to date
skills, he didn’t hold out much hope. That was until he discovered
Working Links. David was referred by the Salvation Army, where we
operate an outreach service and the welfare-to-work initiative
assigned him a consultant.
Until then the 49-year-old was looking for a valet or driving
job. Despite making it through to the interview stage, he was not
having much success. His consultant at our Nottingham office, Alan
Godfrey, provided the support David needed to get him back on
track. He helped him revamp his CV and write a covering job
application letter.
Alan also organised training in interview skills and enrolled
him on a free security course through New College Nottingham. David
came away with an accredited qualification and a Security Industry
Authority Licence, which was funded as part of the course.
