New Deal for Disabled People
The New Deal for Disabled People (NDDP) programme is
available to everyone in the UK receiving benefits related to poor
health.
Working Links is an NDDP provider in 14 districts across
England, Scotland and Wales.
People on the NDDP programme have typically been out of work for
more than a year, with many not having worked for a much longer
period. The average claim length for people in receipt of
Incapacity Benefits is five years.
Before you enter the programme, you will have the opportunity to
discuss your suitability and the opportunities available to you.
Participation is voluntary and is not time bound, to allow you and
your consultant to agree a programme of activities which is
appropriate and which takes into account the limitations of your
health condition where necessary.
Activities are covered by an Action Plan agreed between you and
your consultant. We will support you for a minimum of six months
following your return to work.
Our support includes services such as CV writing, interview
techniques and maybe practical support by funding the purchase of
tools, equipment, clothing or travel which allows you to start
working.
