Driving Progression

Sustainable employment is the most effective route out of poverty. However, in communities where a culture of worklessness exists, moving from welfare to work is not an easy transition. Continuing to support our clients as they make this change is crucial.

To break the poverty trap once and for all our role cannot end with the initial movement from welfare to work. For people to realise their potential and avoid becoming marginalised in entry level jobs we have introduced a workforce progression service, which helps people develop their careers once they have demonstrated sustainability in work.

An alternative to the classic, aggressively target focused recruitment agency, we use an individual approach to help both past clients of Working Links Employment and other workers looking to improve their prospects. We focus solely on sustainable permanent employment and provide a fairly-priced service which fits with our desire to increase employment opportunities across the labour market.

Providing opportunities for progression helps minimise the risk of people becoming frustrated by their current employment and leaving the workforce. By helping our clients realise their ambitions we help them and their families escape poverty; and provide others with a chance to move into work as entry level jobs become available as our clients progress in their careers.

Our intention is to serve those people who are the unsung heroes whose effort underpins every aspect of working life – the ‘essential people’ of the workforce. We intend to help them stay working and maximise their skills, productivity and potential throughout their working lives. And most importantly this service is where good business practice meets significant social impact.
