Foundation Learning Tier

In order to engage learners this programme will offer a selection of innovative and creative activities to compliment any learning and aims to achieve success through means of learning by stealth.

Currently under development; the Foundation Learning Tier (FLT) aims to establish an inclusive curriculum offer at Entry level and level 1 for learners of all ages from 14 upwards. The FLT would be supported by units and qualifications in the Qualifications Credit Framework.

Target group:

Unemployed, NEET’s, Employed but need to learn.

The FLT will be made up of validated Progression Pathways – those Progression Pathways will be drawn from qualifications in the Qualifications Credit Framework.

Progression Pathways will incorporate three curriculum areas:

  • vocational and subject based learning;
  • functional skills; and
  • personal and social development learning.

Our tutors will work with learners to put together a coherent programme, drawing on relevant aspects of the strands, according to the individual needs, interests and aspirations of the learners. This provision will be available and accessible across these strands and that learner achievements in these areas will be recognised through units and qualifications within QCF.
