Key Skills
Key skills are a range of essential skills that underpin success
in education, employment, lifelong learning and personal
development. The key skills are the skills which are most commonly
needed to succeed in everyday life.
Target group:
Unemployed, NEETs, Employed needing upskilling.

In order to engage learners this programme will offer a
selection of innovative and creative activities to compliment any
learning and aims to achieve success through means of learning by
stealth, with the view of achieving qualifications accredited by
ASDAN.
Each Key Skill qualification is accredited through ASDAN
Awarding Body from Level 1 - 4.
The key skills qualifications are designed to enable progression
at the learners own pace. They build on the adult numeracy
standards, which provide further detail of the skills needed to
achieve the application of number key skill at levels 1 and 2. Each
level of the key skill above level 1 incorporates and builds on the
previous ones. The key skills qualifications not only recognise
current capabilities, they also require the learner to identify how
they can further improve their skills to meet new demands at higher
levels.
