Background
We are an organisation quite unlike any other. Our work
tackles social exclusion and poverty head on by helping
disadvantaged individuals and communities.
We believe long-term employment is the best route out of
poverty. Since 2000, we have helped over 120,000
people across the UK back into the workplace through our
work in communities.
We use a holistic approach to deliver effective solutions, which
help more than just the individual by making communities a better
place to live and work.
As a public-private-voluntary company owned
by the government’s Shareholder Executive, Manpower, Capgemini
and Mission Australia, we combine the expertise of three sectors to
address the real needs of communities and businesses.
Profit is not our main focus. Our shareholders endorse the
organisation’s social purpose and are interested in how we can
create long-term value.

This means we invest in the quality of our services and the
communities where we operate.
In 2004 we launched an independent charitable trust,
The Links Foundation. They invest in valuable community
projects and so far the Foundation has donated £3 million.
We have grown over the years and operate in
more than 100 locations across Great Britain and we
deliver more than 80 contracts. Our workforce has increased to more
than 1,400.
