Brian Bell - Biography
Brian Bell
Chief Operating Officer
Brian was appointed Chief Operating
Officer of Working Links in August 2007.
He is responsible for overseeing our
day-to-day operations and the delivery of over 70 contracts from
more than 140 locations across Great Britain.
Brian joined Working Links when it was founded
in April 2000, as the Zone Director for Middlesbrough. As one
of the first people on board, Brian was instrumental in building
the business from its roots in the North of England. He then moved
on to become Regional Director for the North.
Brian has been involved in several successful
flagship projects for us including the Working Neighbourhood
Pilot in the Parkhead community in Glasgow’s east end.
Brian has worked in the welfare to work field
for over 20 years. He began his career as a civil servant with
Jobcentre Plus, developing extensive first hand experience of
helping disadvantaged people into work.

Outside of work Brian is a Governor of
Northern Counties College. The College provides education
programmes for adults with complex disabilities.
Brian was born in Newcastle and grew up in
Gateshead. He left school at 16 and started his career as a
frontline adviser with the Public Employment Service. He returned
to education in his later years, and graduated with an MBA in
Business from Newcastle Business School. Brian is an avid
football fan and when he’s not spending time with his daughter he
takes advantage of his season ticket for Newcastle United.
