Alexis Minds her step - for 22 miles
A Kettering woman is hoping to raise hundreds for
charity through completing walking for more than 20 miles on a
treadmill.
Alexis Hicks, 27, of Burton Latimer, will be
raising funds for mental health charity Mind – a cause close to her
heart.
Alexis, who works as a personal consultant at
back-to-work experts Working Links, said: “I have family members
suffering from mental health conditions and also work with people
claiming health-related benefits so the charity’s something quite
close to me.
“And the reasoning behind the 22.5mile walk is
because that’s the distance between our two furthest outreach
offices in the region so it’s going to be quite a challenge.”
As part of the tenth anniversary of Working
Links, all its 2,000-strong staff are to give up a day of work to
volunteer for charity – known as a Rainbow Day.
Alexis will be undertaking the gruelling task
at Kettering’s Balance Health Club on Saturday 7 August. To donate,
