Twelve
previously unemployed people in Torquay are back in work after
hotel chain Premier Inn joined forces with employment and skills
experts Working Links.
Managers of the newly-refurbished Premier Inn
on the town’s seafront needed to fill 12 room attendant jobs due to
the extension of a new 120 rooms to the hotel.
Working Links were immediately on the case to fill all the
vacancies and asked customers who were interested to come
forward.
Each customer who applied for the roles was pre-screened by Working
Links and asked to attend a three day training course, so they were
ready for the roles and understood the responsibilities they would
have as room attendants.
Premier Inn were so impressed by the interviewees, twelve were
offered jobs as room attendants. All those involved will continue
to receive support from Working Links as they adjust to their new
working environment.
Andrea Mahn, Working Links employer services consultant, said: “We
are thrilled to have been able to get all twelve jobs filled in
such a quick time. This demonstrates our ability to train our
clients to meet specific business needs. I am really proud and
pleased for all those who were accepted.”
