New office in Stratford Upon Avon

Date: 16 July 2009

People living on health related benefits in Stratford upon Avon looking to return to work are being given a helping hand thanks to a recruitment specialists opening a new branch. Working Links have opened at Unit 22 in The Mansley Business Centre on Timothy’s Bridge Road, Stratford Upon Avon.

The company have been in Stratford for over a year, delivering a Government funded programme called Pathways to Work, based at the local Jobcentre Plus. But demand for the tailored service has been so high they have branched out into their own premises.

Over 2000 people are currently on health benefits in the area, many of which have been out of work for some time. The majority do want to return to work but are unsure where to start, lack upto date skills and don’t have the confidence to begin. Working Links offer individual support focusing on the type of work that a jobseeker wants to do and how they can achieve this. And close links with the local employers has resulted in more vacancies being available that they currently have people to fill them.

Daksha Thanki from Working Links comments “We had a little opening event at the office last week to welcome our current jobseekers, Jobcentre Plus and local employers through the doors. Now that we have our own dedicated premises we are able to take on more jobseekers. And even though jobs are scarce, we have been focusing on the employability skills of our jobseekers, giving them the best possible chance to return to work.”
