interest in our report - 'Prejudged: Tagged for life - A
research report into employer attitudes towards ex-offenders'.
In the last ten years, we've helped 150,000 long-term unemployed
people find work. Through our welfare to work programmes,
we've engaged and worked with thousands of ex-offenders looking for
work and facing the barriers of their offending background. Because
of these barriers, we wanted to work more closely with ex-offenders
to help them move on with their lives - and we now work within many
prisons and probation areas as a provider of offender services.
To support this work, we commissioned our research and
developed 'Prejudged: Tagged for life' to help us understand
the challenges around employment both for ex-offenders and
the employers who are providing the vacancies.The report also
recommends changes that need to be made to ensure that offenders
who have served their sentences don't go on to face a lifetime of
discrimination.
