How to become an apprentice

 If you’re over 16 and you’ve just left school, have been working for years or just want to start a new career, then an apprenticeship could be for you.

As an apprentice you will learn as you earn – taking home a wage as an employee as well as gaining on the job, specific skills. You’ll also work towards a work-based qualification like a National Vocational Qualification ( NVQ ), and other nationally recognised qualifications.

We offer apprenticeships in:

  • customer service (including contact centres);
  • hospitality; and
  • warehousing and storage.

There are some entry level requirements you need to meet to be accepted onto an apprenticeship but, if you don’t have these, we can help through our Access to Apprenticeships programme.

Access to Apprenticeships programme

Our four week programme is geared towards giving you the skills and qualifications you need to progress onto an apprenticeship. The course includes professional qualifications like Food Hygiene, BSC Health and Safety and First Aid as well as the Key Skills and Technical Certificate. This means that when you complete Access to Apprenticeships, you will already have completed around 40% of your apprenticeship.
