Jobseekers get a boost with free training in
Broxtowe
Date: 14 May 2008
Free training in administration is up for
grabs in Broxtowe at a recruitment event taking place on Thursday
22 May between 10am until 3pm at the Broxtowe Borough Council, Town
Hall, Foster Avenue, Beeston.
The event is geared towards helping unemployed
people looking for work in administration but lacking the skills.
The event will provide the opportunity to discuss the skills that
will be taught at the administration academy. These include
qualifications in customer service skills and business
communication preparation plus the opportunity to go on a work
placement.
The event has been organised by Essential
People – the skills and development arm of employment
specialist Working Links, run in partnership with Broxtowe
Borough Council and Castle College. Essential People are supporting
hundreds of people into work in Nottingham with a project they are
running which has been funded by the Learning and Skills Council.
This will see those aged over 19 years with fewer than five GCSEs
gain the skills they need to help them find a job.
Doug Haddon from Essential People, comments:
“For many people trying to return to work isn’t as easy as just
filling in an application form. They often lack the skills they
need to help them get a job. We are able to address this need and
by working in partnership with Broxtowe Borough Council and Castle
College we can help achieve this.”
