Jobseekers given boost in mosborough
Date: 20 May 2008
Unemployed people living in Mosborough
claiming health related benefits are being given a boost to help
them back into work.
Employment specialists Working Links are
working alongside Sheffield City Council to support residents find
a job.
“There are currently around 1,400 people
claiming incapacity benefits and living in the Mosborough area.
Often it is a case that people want to return to work but have been
without a job for so long that they are not sure where to begin.
Some people worry that their condition or health means that they
can’t return to work but often this is not the case,” comments
Colin Woolloff of Working Links.
“This is where we step in by offering free
advice and support to make this return possible. We can source
relevant training to help with skills shortages and can assist with
job searches, filling in application forms and in some cases, even
fund work clothes or equipment to help them start a job”.
The team will be operating an outreach service
and meetings can be arranged at the local jobcentre or even a local
coffee shop convenient to the jobseeker.
