National Childcare Week
Last year we joined with Daycare Trust, the national
childcare charity, to help celebrate National Childcare Week. We
are pleased to be able to support them again this year promoting
the week, which takes place from 2 - 9 June 2008.
As part of the week’s activities Daycare Trust
are planning a number of events which include a children's creative
writing and art competition, a circus in Manchester and many more
local events. You can get involved with any of these existing
events, or you might like to organise your own local event or
activities.
National Childcare Week is run by Daycare
Trust with support from the Department for Children, Schools and
Families. This year’s theme is Building brighter futures, promoting
the importance of investing in childcare, out-of-school activities
and early years provision for children to strengthen and contribute
to children’s play and learning.

How can you get involved?
Daycare Trust has lots of useful information
on their website about the work they are doing during the week. You
can also download their flyer which gives you helpful tips and
advice on organising your own events and activities.
Your local Working Links
office may also have events running during this week that you
can get involved with. Why not drop in to your nearest office to
find out.
